Who the app is for

Metabolic Shift’s current profile and nutrition references are designed for adults aged 18 or older. If you are under 18, please do not use the app. You are responsible for providing information you have the right to use and for keeping access to your device and any personal AI provider account secure.

Information, not medical advice

The app is intended for general wellness, food journaling, and nutrition information. It is not intended to diagnose, prevent, or treat a disease or to replace care from a qualified professional. It does not provide individualized medical advice. Do not use it to make urgent or high-risk decisions about a condition, medication, pregnancy, or eating disorder. Seek professional advice for those decisions and emergency care when needed.

Food data and AI estimates

Catalog values, scanned package information, recipes, AI interpretations, and comparisons may vary by brand, preparation, serving size, region, and source. AI output is an estimate, even when it looks precise. You should review an entry before saving or relying on it. We cannot promise that every food, nutrient, or feature will be available or accurate.

You keep responsibility for the content you enter, upload, or save. Give the app permission to process that content to provide the feature you request, including sending it to a provider when you choose an internet AI feature. Do not submit another person’s private information without authorization.

Third-party services and your data

Optional features may rely on Apple Health, Apple Speech, Apple’s App Store, food catalog hosts, or an AI provider you select. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. You are responsible for complying with the terms of any personal AI account or API key you connect.

Your provider may set quotas, charge for API use, change models, restrict access, or discontinue service. Metabolic Shift does not control those decisions. An active internet connection, compatible device, required permissions, and provider availability may be needed for some features. See the Privacy Policy’s AI section for what a connected request can include.

Optional developer tips

The app may offer optional, one-time tips through Apple’s in-app purchase system. A tip is a voluntary way to support development. It does not unlock content or guarantee a feature, support level, or release date. Apple shows the price and handles payment, purchase confirmation, and any refund process under its applicable policies.

Changes and interruptions

We may update, improve, remove, or pause app features. Device compatibility, operating-system changes, data-source updates, provider outages, and network conditions can affect results.

Your journal, profile, and wellness records are kept on your device. The app does not provide iCloud journal sync, cross-device recovery, or an independent backup. Removing the app, resetting the device, or moving to another device may make those records unavailable. Apple’s device-backup behavior is described in the Privacy Policy; keep your own copy of information you need to retain.

The app’s design, name, and original materials belong to their respective owners. You may use the app for its intended personal purpose, subject to the terms of the platform from which you obtained it. Do not misuse the app or attempt to interfere with its operation.

Limits of responsibility

We work to provide a reliable service, but cannot promise uninterrupted access or error-free estimates. Your responsibility to review entries and consult qualified professionals does not remove any responsibility we have under applicable law. Any limit on our liability applies only to the extent local law permits, and nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

Mandatory consumer protections remain

Consumer, digital-content, privacy, and health laws differ by country and region. Any warranty, cancellation, refund, repair, replacement, or other right that your local law makes mandatory continues to apply, even if these terms say something narrower. The purchase platform’s terms may also give you additional purchase or refund options. Nothing here requires you to give up the right to contact a regulator or bring a claim in a court that local law makes available to you.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms as the app evolves. The effective date above identifies this version. If a change materially affects your use, we will make the updated terms available before or when the change takes effect. Continued use after that point means you accept the updated terms, where applicable law allows.
